The installation is an interpretation of Celestial Realm-Aether of a certain memory. It is as real as you and me, but impossible to grasp in any way. Human nature, how much it desires to archive and document even the most shape-shifting aspects of existence. The memory, it moves smoothly with the wind and other elements incomprehensible to the senses we were granted. Impressions of images and voice, shadows of trees and plants, ripples in the water, melodies, distant wind, it’s a shapeless amalgamation drenched in bright sunshine (or shadows, depending on the day), dissolved in motion blur, reflecting light here and there from the little bits and pieces of gold, moments of clarity, fleeting realisations of preciousness that we are able to remember right now, at this micro instant, so clearly.
All the writing on the pieces of fabric are excerpts from the actual dialogues recorded in the interview with my grandfather. Drawings and images interpret the graphic forms and physical elements from other two installations shown at Casa do Corim. Reflective bits are applications of gold leaf.
